Religion, Adoption Addressed In One NJ Assembly Bill
Private adoption agencies, the courts, and the state would have to maintain a child’s religious upbringing when placing a child with a guardian, into foster care, or into an adoptive home under a bill approved by an Assembly panel. The legislation is sponsored by Assembly Democrats Gary Schaer, Pamela Lampitt and Upendra Chivukula.

Legislation sponsored by Senate Education Chair Teresa Ruiz and Senate Higher Education Chair Sandra Cunningham to ensure that New Jersey students born in the United States are provided equal access to college, regardless of their parents’ immigration status, was approved today by a Senate committee.
